Roll Tide

We started off our Friday getting PUMPED UP for Alabama's season kickoff next Saturday!
Summer truly has been an Alabama Fan since birth.
We had a little accident and therefore did a wardrobe change into this pimp outfit from our friend Denise.
She has a gem studded cross on her onsie, so Glamorous!
NEWS FLASH: Summer has been drooling alot today and I think she may be starting to teethe. I know it will probably be a month or so until we actually see the tooth but the chewing and drooling is beginning. I went out and bought her a teething ring. She likes it but still has to learn cause and effect; she has to HOLD it in order for her to keep it in her mouth.

Currently she will only hold it for a few seconds then drops it.

Cutie Patutie

Or however you spell that word...
My baby girl is CUTE!
Check out these blue eyes.
And her cute smocked balloon outfit (care of Marley Rose).
On our walk to our Mother Baby class this morning.
At 3 months 1 week (or is it 2?) Summer weighs in at 12 lb 5 oz. She only gained 1 oz this past week which means she has grown in length because I even increased the amount in her bottles so there is no way she didn't grow. Watch out "normal" we're coming to get ya!

DIVA

Afternoon play session...
Summer: Mommy can I put on some makeup
Mommy: Daddy can Summer put on some makeup
Daddy: No, Never!
Mommy: Daddy said no
Summer: MOMMY, DON'T MAKE ME CRY AT YOU!
Mommy: Ok you can hold the brushes
Summer: Now what do I do with this brush?
Mommy: That is for eyeshadow. Show me where your eye is.
Summer: Look Mommy, I'm pretty now just like you (I'm just typing what she said)
Mommy: You look beautiful! Now what do you want to do?
Summer: I am ready to chug some milk! Pass me the bottle please.
Oh the drama Daddy will have to endure with 2 Divas in the house.
I think a baby who can't fully communicate is good for my imagination!
The 2 Handsome males of the house...we have them out numbered (Jana, Summer, Lucy).

Sunday at our house

Today was our FIRST time to church as a FAMILY!
Summer was well behaved and loved the music. At our church the music is like a Christian concert and it is very loud! Mommy shook her to the beat and she loved it. We did go into the cry room during the sermon as she decided she was going to chit chat during service. Although it is cute, it is not acceptable during the service. There are gliders in the cry room and she dozed off as I rocked.
This is our first family photo since the first week she was born. Sidenote to picture: We were all fed, dressed in clean clothes and out the door by 8:30am (it is not disclosed whether or not our hair or teeth are clean)!
A close up of Summer in Mimi's dress on the ride home.
We are doggy sitting for 2 extra dogs this weekend bringing our dog total to 4 at our house! Luckily, they are all getting along and the weather has been cool so they can stay outside the majority of the day. I have imposed a "no dog on the sofa" rule for the weekend and here are 3 of them sulking! The fourth has her own crate so she didn't care.
NAP UPDATE: We found our nap! I was talking with some other moms and they advised me to use the Miracle Blanket for naps too. Summer has been asleep in it for 3.5 hours now and I was going to wake her after 3 but I decided to blog (after I organized my closet, went to Babies R Us and Walmart - God bless naps)! I do not think this will interfere with her night sleeping as I will surely wake her at 4 hours and then she will have a good 3 hours that we can PLAY before bedtime.
PLAY UPDATE: Friday Summer played with a toy for the first time. I had her sitting up in the bed and we played with a stuffed dog that had ears that make a crinkle noise when you touch them. I played with it for a few minutes and I could tell she was just observing the noise. Then she moved her hands and touched the toy! Sounds small but I could tell she had listened, observed then acted and that is a big learning step!

Happy 3 Month Birthday Summer

I cannot believe it but my little Summer Marie is 3 months old today. It seems like all the milestones we were waiting for were hinged on turning 3 months and we made it! Her sleeping and crying are so much better than those first few weeks.
We use any good reason to celebrate with dessert and this is of course an excellent one.
Summer's 3 month picture (weight 12 lb 4 oz)
Summer's facial expressions pretty much equal the mood in our house at these different months. 3 months=happy
2 months=tears
1 month=dazed and confused
Here she is in her first 3-6 month size onesie! I can't believe it fits. I haven't even tried one on her because I just knew it would swallow her. My mommy eyes are deceiving me.
I wanted to get some great 3 month photos of Summer in the smocked dress that Mimi made for her however the little pumpkin wasn't in the modeling mood.

And a change of "set" only made the model more upset!

Thanks for supporting us through the last 3 months of our lives! It has been a fun experience and we are thrilled for the blessing God has given us to love and take care of.

Bubbles

Summer is an expert bubble blower. You can catch her looking like this in just about all of her waking hours.
No there isn't something on your screen...it is a dog hair on her eyebrow. Part of life at our house.
Gramma was asking about Summer's hair. She does have hair still it is just fine and a little lighter color than birth. This mommy says no bows until they can legitimately stay in...no toothpast or tape on her head:)

Angel of the Morning

The morning is just bliss at our house.
Summer eats then sits in the bounce seat facing the french doors looking into the back yard. This morning we have the door open and we are enjoying the fresh crisp mountain (semi-mountain/desert) air. Summer is wrapped with love in the hand knit blanket that Mama Burr gave her. Mama Burr if you are reading, thank you. I can tell you took your time and did a beautiful job!
And thank you Jada for the bounce seat. We have been using it daily since we brought Summer home from the hospital!
Thank you Aunt Kiki for our monogrammed beanie that keeps Summer warm and adorable!

Ok so as time goes by I keep layering Summer as the air is a little cooler than brisk...but it feels so good I hate to shut the door. Therefore we are just going to take this opportunity to use all of our love-made blankets and thank those who made them.

Thanks to Marilyn R., our great friend Matt's mom, who quilted this blanket for Summer. She even put this cute tag on it which makes it so special!
