Summer - 12 Weeks

Summer is 12 weeks now!
Weight - 11 lb 14 oz
Latest trick - sleeping thru the night...3 times in a row this week (11 hours)
Likes - her hands in the mouth, bouncy seat bouncing really hard with your foot, bathtime
Dislikes - naps! anything that involves being still (Mommy's got a Jimmy leg)
Favorite time of day - just waking up in the morning...reuniting her mouth to her hands from being wrapped in the Miracle Blanket all night! This is when we get smiles galore:)

This is the only way she rests during the day (for this week at least). But hey, at least I am sitting at the computer keeping in touch with you (which is what I am doing in this picture).

We took so many pictures that I think turned out great that I need a post just dedicated to sharing them with you.
Bud, Mimi and Grando met us at the airport.

Birthday Wishes

We wish Aunt Kiki and Daddy the very best birthdays!
Kiersten's birthday was Friday and as you can see she celebrated "South of the Border"...the NC/GA border that is! ha ha corny I know:)
Chad's birthday is Sunday and his celebrations are still to come.
Summer had her first craft project making both of their birthday presents. It is still a secret until the final product is finished in a week. Gotta love suspense! (doesn't the girl in the grey top look like me from the side profile?)
Summer also got to meet Aunt Bethany and Aunt Mary Ashley
She got to tour Grammy and Papa's new home
And she ate at Jim 'N Nick's Barbeque (Mama's favorite)

She also spent a lot of time with Uncle Bud and Aunt Jen BUT I am waiting for Uncle Bud to send me the photos:)
It was sad to leave our Birmingham family but we are really happy and thankful that we had the opportunity to visit! The plane ride back was mostly good with a little crying towards the end. The Southwest flight attendants were EXCELLENT! They were not only nice but one of them held Summer while and off duty Southwest pilot helped me pour the breastmilk into the bottle from a ziploc bag...leaked thanks to TSA making me open all the bottles to check and then I obviously didn't get them sealed back properly. Overall the travels were great and Summer is a real trooper. She is happy to be back in her own crib and sleeping soundly.
AND WE MISSED DADDY!

Flight Status

Not only did we survive but Summer and I did great!
No pictures though as I had Summer in the baby bjorn, all our gear in a backpack and my hands were always doing something more important than snapping shots for the blog.
She was awake the entire flight to Vegas and kicked her legs, waived her arms and looked at people without making a peep. I changed her diaper on this flight and it wasn't so bad.
On the long flight to Birmingham she had a bottle at take off and was asleep the entire trip after that...not even a bathroom trip for her or I (as I find I get dehydrated often as a mother not thinking of myself).
Uncle Bud, Mimi and Grando were at the airport waiting for us (Summer really)when we got off the plane (at midnight) like the good ole days when people actually parked and came in to greet you. Thanks TSA for taking the joy out of flying!
More to come as we have an action packed week ahead of us. Stay tuned!

Up Up and Away!

Well we are taking the plunge and Summer and I are flying together to Sweet Home Alabama. We booked a last minute flight as Chad will be out of town for business and we didn't want to stay home alone. Thanks to Uncle Bud and Aunt Jen for making this possible.

I think I am super prepared with supplies and thanks to Nicole for rounding up all the baby gear for me to borrow while we are visiting.

This is for our carry on. I baked some brownies too just in case things go sideways and I need to eat chocolate to cope with the madness (which I am sure won't happen).

I'll let you know how it goes...

Lake Outing

We took Summer and the dogs to the lake today to run around and we all had a good time.
Lucy's (dollar store) tennis ball sunk and the poor girl was swimming forever looking for it. Oh and it is always a question of who is faster, Sampson or Lucy, and today the question was answered. A bird teased them by flying very low over the water and they were OFF trying to catch it. Sure enough if you put them head to head with plenty of space and a moving target Sampson is faster! Don't worry neither of them were fast enough to catch the bird.
